“Stop & Think” Viewed in Outer-space

The below email was sent to “Stop & Think” producer Johnny Karls from space!

Jeff Williams (pictured below), one of the two astronauts currently on the International Space Station (the Station circles the planet approximately 16 times per day, traveling at 17,500 mph in an orbit varying 208 to 285 miles from Earth) watched “Stop and Think” from space Saturday morning. Here’s what he had to say about it:

======================
The video was uplinked to me last night and I watched it this morning (Saturday). Great message! I can echo the proclamation of the glory of Christ in the creation and in His word (Col 1:15-17). I’m going to forward it to my church staff. Thank you for your prayers.

In Christ,

Jeff
2 Cor 5:21

Children’s Hunger Fund Promotional Video

RADAR is producing a short “overview” DVD for Children’s Hunger Fund. The 5-minute video will highlight some of CHF’s current programs worldwide as well as outline why CHF is already the charitable organization of choice for many faith-based organizations and corporations nationwide. Johnny Karls (Stop & Think) is producing for CHF while RADAR’s Drew Lucas designs the piece.

Radar Turns Two!

RADAR turned 2 on April 16th. RADAR began with a vision of providing its clients with interactive experiences using storytelling techniques familiar to the motion picture & television industries — two years later, RADAR’s commitment to client retention and its focus on quality products & services and tangible results has paid off.

The company has experienced tremendous growth in its sophomore year and is expected to double in size by the end of 2007. RADAR started with five clients and now has 37 and there’s no end in sight: RADAR is opening a seasonal New York office this Fall and has plans to run a pilot program in Denver next year.

Earnings are up considerably for the fourth straight quarter and RADAR is slowly building its street cred as a reputable content provider — something they’ve been wanting to do since April 2004. Since RADAR’s launch, the company has produced more than 70 videos, 30 DVD packages, 12 websites, 6 national events, 17 webisodes, 7 shorts and has won more than 15 national awards.

SDPA Calls on Radar…Again

The Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) has once again tapped RADAR for creative services on both internal & external communication pieces for 2006. The multi-phased account will encompass identity packages, direct mail, newsletters and pitch pieces for the San Antonio-based organization. For now, RADAR will deliver concepts for new letterhead, envelopes and business cards. RADAR recently designed & produced the new website for SDPA (dermPA.org) which has been a huge win for the organization since its launch back in November of last year.

Unicare Agent Sales Forum

UniCare has tapped RADAR to produce its 2006 Agent Sales Forum in Ft. Lauderdale this May. The four day event will bring UniCare agents together for an opportunity to hear keynote speakers, learn more about new products & tools available to them and experience a gala awards dinner designed to recognize their achievements for the year.

300 guests are expected to attend the event which will take place at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort. RADAR, in conjunction with UniCare’s event management team, will handle all aspects of production including audio, video, lighting, decor, staging, set design & construction, theming, signage, on-site production staff & crew, entertainment as well as all pre-produced multimedia elements including PowerPoint presentations, session wallpaper loops, on-site photography, highlight slide shows and more.

“Desperate House Lies” Wins Silver ADDY Award

The District 15 competition, which is the second level of the three-tiered national competition, included the winners from the local competitions in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Inland Empire, North LA County, Central California Coast and Bakersfield.

RADAR hopes to fold this win into a national win where the piece will be competing against the winners from each of the 15 Districts in the United States. Click here to visit the ADDY website.

Post-Production Begins on FSI

Production wrapped on Tuesday for “FSI: Fraud Scheme Investigation” bringing the total number of production days to six.

RADAR will produce several film posters for Interthinx™ for upcoming trade shows as well as an industry trailer, preparing people for the September premiere in San Diego.

The 30-minute project was shot on two DVCPRO cameras, will be edited using Final Cut Pro and After Effects and 3,300 DVD’s will be produced & distributed nationwide.

This “best practice” training film is already receiving rave reviews from industry experts who participated in the filming process as well as staff, cast & crew.

Welcome

Instead of doing an updated “buzz” page on the radar website, we thought we’d step into the 21st Century and do what all of you expected us to do: get a blog!

So here we are. Welcome. Now, let’s get started.

What this blog is and what this blog isn’t hasn’t exactly been defined yet but at this moment, think of it as the latest & greatest news, information, pics, clips, quips & quotes this side of the LA river. Our goal is to keep you informed and let you know what the creative minds at RADAR are up to next. Enjoy.
